After promulgation of The Legal Services Authority Act, 1987, Goalpara District Judiciary has organized legal
awareness and legal literacy camps from time to time. Under the guidance of Assam State legal Services Authority
(ALSA) various Legal Aid Camps were organized and wide publicity was given regarding the availability of FREE
LEGAL AID to needy litigant public. Goalpara District Judiciary has adopted several methods of speedy disposal
of cases by holding Lok Adalats on every 3rd Saturday since April, 2007. Apart from these, various Lok Adalats
were organized from time to time. On every 9th November Legal Services day was celebrated by holding legal
awareness camps and Lok Adalats.
